Dr. Steven C. Riser was born in Cincinnati, Ohio (1946) and raised in White Plains, N.Y. (1951-64). He was married to Alyce Eversdyk Riser from Grand Rapids, MI. in 1971 and has three grown children: Stephanie Riser, Steven Riser Jr. and Summer Riser Berger. Education

He was ordained in the P.C.U.S. in 1972, and later ordained in the E.P.C. in 1992. He is currently serving on the Permanent Judicial Commission (PJC) of the EPC. Theological PerspectiveDr. Riser's life goal is "to know Christ and to make Him known." While his theological perspective may be expressed as progressive-conservative, evangelical, reformed, orthodox and traditional, his beliefs and expressions are in the context of honest-loving relationships. To know Christ is to love Christ and to love Christ is to worship and serve Christ. He has a deep trust in the sovereignty of God in all matters of life and death. He has a high view of Scripture as the final and infallible authority in faith and practice. He has great respect of the Church whom Christ has purchased with His blood.
